PETE DOSSETT
Back in 1973 I only had a few glam rock singles to my name. Then, our Auntie Sue moved into our Bracknell council house with a treasure trove of two hundred albums.
Thus began my musical education! I learned about Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen, and even Captain Beefheart. I had access to more music than any other kid of my age, it seemed.
Later, Bracknell Sports Centre became a venue for the Punk and New Wave scene. Two-Tone bands would swing by too; saving us the trouble of going to London to see the latest bands.
Years later, when I relocated to Massachusetts I started as a Guest DJ on WMBR Cambridge, the radio station of MIT.
Now I'm bringing my eclectic and widespread musical tastes to ASR (Allsounds Radio). I like to say that the 'Lost & Found' show plays music you don't often hear on the radio...deep cuts and hidden treasures!
Thanks again, Auntie Sue!
All the best
