Hi, I’m Sam,

I was always the odd one out at school. I loved music, but not the same kind as everyone else! My first love was heavy metal (Deep Purple) and the likes of Pink Floyd.

I particularly liked it when, under the guise of studying for my A-levels, I would be left at home whilst the rest of my family visited grandparents. Little did they know that I spent the time integrating expressions whilst listening to Alan Freeman!

I missed out on Thrash metal, but got into some seriously extreme black and death metal in the 90s. At one point, I was reviewing gigs and albums for a certain Steve Thomas-Green.
My latest love (apart from cats) is outlaw country music, which I like to include in my show The Rust Bucket, along with music from the 1970s through to the 90s, along with anything else that takes my fancy.

I’m on ASR (Allsounds Radio) Fridays from 6pm to 8pm with "The Rust Bucket".
