Paul Charles started off in Marine Engineering at college in Glasgow and around 1968 got involved in record retailing before becoming a full time DJ in West London area at pubs, colleges and some events.

He took a break in 1973 and moved to the Channel Islands where he did various things from Head Barman, working in the Tomato Exporting Board and eventually back into electronic engineering.

Paul did a few gigs at hotels doing DJ work, also played organ and keyboards in hotels. He also got involved in some pirate radio things using transmitters in Ireland, then got involved also with “Offshore Radio” which was a special event station for the World International Powerboat Championships in the mid 1980’s.

He has been involved with Internet radio for several years including running stations on Live365 and more recently ran Seabird Radio for 4 years.

Today, Paul resides here at ASR (Allsounds Radio), where he presents his show, weekdays at 12noon called "The Paul Charles Show"
